Wedding CakeWedding traditions around the world vary greatly from country to country, and in western society we often look for inspiration from afar to make our special day just a little different from the traditional white wedding.Today less western brides marry in church, they keep searching for a unique setting and a stunning cake to compliment the day. But where can we look for inspiration for our special day?

Asia has always been depicted as a continent full of color, diversity, and a hint of mystery. The traditional clothing worn by woman of these countries, colorful, vibrant and depicting a lust for life. We can look towards a Buddhist ceremony for inspiration, where a string of beads depicts the joining of two families or to the Chinese dragon and phoenix or the delicate Japanese dolls. Along with these diverse cultures, we can find inspiration for that extra special cake for your wedding day, Asian wedding often being spread over several days, in India the tradition being the washing of feet with milk to purify the bride and groom before marriage.

An Asian wedding cake can be tiered or depict all sorts of scenes from Chinese dragons to Japanese dolls, full of vibrancy and color and a lust for life.
