The Perfect Bouquet For Your Wedding

This is a guest post by Claire Jarrett.

When planning the perfect wedding there are lots of different aspects to consider, the dress, the cake, the guest list, a venue, how many bridesmaids to have and of course suitable flowers for the venue and the bouquet.  Every bride wants her wedding to be better than other weddings she has attended that year by adding stylish touches and choosing a bouquet that suits you and your dress perfectly this is easily achievable.

Choosing a bridal bouquet to suit your personal style and figure is a must, the colours of the flowers must not only complement your complexion but also your dress, this will take careful consideration and time. Fair brides with a pale complexion will do well to steer away from dark and bold colours possible choosing dusky pink tones or champagne colours to complement their skin tone.

If you are petite then never choose a large bouquet that may hide or swamp you or your dress, the guests are there to admire how stunning you look and a large bouquet may spoil this. Taller brides with a fuller figure have the option of choosing a larger more detailed bouquet with a trailing design as this will draw the eye down instead of across, flattering the bride.

The dress should always be chosen first with flowers coming in a close second as the style of your dress must always guide your flower choice. A traditional gown with a full skirt will be complemented by an impressive full bouquet; a fitted sleek gown will be complemented by a longer trailing bouquet.

Find a florist who you can trust, someone who you feel comfortable talking through your ideas, try to listen to their ideas as well and don’t forget a good florist has prepared hundreds of bouquets and flower arrangements for weddings. They will try to interpret your ideas working within your budget to find flowers that will complement your personal look and style. Try to find pictures of arrangements and colours you like to take to show your florist and explain the style and colour of your dress or take a photograph of this as well to help the florist give the best advice they can.

Try not to feel too daunted by choosing wedding flowers, once the bride’s bouquet has been decided then you can concentrate on the bridesmaids bouquets, button holes and venue flowers. All the other arrangements should always complement the bride’s bouquet and not the other way round, and never forget whose day this is.
