Charming Pink Wedding Desserts

Pink Wedding Cake- Charming Pink Wedding Desserts -

Pink has always been a favorite color for weddings. What other color could be more romantic, pretty, and feminine? There are many wonderful ways to use pink in a wedding, right down to the wedding cake.

Get inspired by these charming ideas for pink wedding cakes and desserts:

Swiss Dot Cake

Most brides will choose to have a classic tiered wedding cake at their reception. One delightful design for a pink wedding cake is a quilted Swiss dot pattern done in fondant. Frost light pink fondant over a white cake filled with raspberry cream, then etch a diamond shape pattern into the frosting to resemble quilting. A small Swiss dot is applied to the intersection of each diamond. For an added detail, faux pearls may be piped around the base of each cake tier. That is a popular accent when the bride is wearing pearl bridal jewelry. A pink Swiss dot cake would be absolutely wonderful for a spring or summer wedding with a classic style.

Pink Cupcakes

If whimsy is your style, a tower of pink cupcakes would be a terrific dessert for your wedding reception. It would be fun to have the cake variety be red velvet under the pink frosting. There are many great design options for the cupcakes. For a romantic look, decorate the top of each cupcake with a large dark pink buttercream frosting rose. Your guests will love it – remember those birthday cakes when you were a kid and everyone fought over the slices with the frosting roses? This time, everyone gets a rose on their cake! Classic white china cake stands with cut out details are a lovely way to display such pretty cupcakes.

Cupcakes can be very contemporary as well. A great modern look would be to choose three different geometric patterns to use on the cupcakes. You could use a stripe, a check, and a polka dot, for instance, done in shades of pink, red, and aqua. Display the cupcakes on a clear lucite tiered stand so the patterns are really showcased. As for the flavor, it would be fun to do brownie cupcakes, which is a big wedding trend right now.

Cotton Candy

Looking for another fun idea for a pink wedding dessert? Consider cotton candy! It would be a wonderful addition to a carnival theme wedding or any summer reception. Cotton candy would probably not be served instead of a traditional wedding cake, but as an additional dessert for your guests. Hire a cotton candy truck just like you would find at a real fair for a terrific late night reception surprise. Your guests will love it the unexpected and fun treat.

Candy Stations

Candy stations have become a tried-and-true wedding favorite. A wonderful thing about candy bars is that they are easy to create in a signature color. If your wedding taste runs towards classic pearl bridal jewelry and roses, make your candy station elegant in design. Fill clear glass apothecary jars with your favorite candies in a range of pink hues. Ideas include custom pink M&Ms, pink gummy bears, and pink Jordan almonds, to name just a few. Small silver scoops will add to the elegance. For an informal wedding reception, set out galvanized tin pails filled to the brim with pink sweets like candy necklaces, pink saltwater taffy, pink rock candy, and pink bubblegum. Chinese take out shaped boxes are a great way for your guests to take home their favorite candies as a wedding favor for a sweet reminder of your charming wedding.

Tips For Great Wedding Pictures

Wedding PhotoYou want your wedding day to be beautiful. You arrange everything so it’s picture-perfect. But then you look at the pictures your photographer took, and they are less than perfect. You feel like that which should be the everlasting memory of your wedding, those instants captured on camera, don’t make your wedding enough justice. For some people this is reason for a shrug, others may have a meltdown over this. Thinking about this, and about some recent debacles with wedding pictures that made the news, we put our heads together and came up with some tips on how to have a picture-perfect wedding with pictures that actually come out perfect.

First of all, hire a good photographer. This may sound pretty straightforward advice, but some people don’t really follow it. They go with the venue’s official photographer, or with someone who took good pictures at a friend’s wedding. Worse, some people hire an actual friend – this is an issue in itself; marriages are for friends to enjoy and for professionals to document. Look at the photographer’s portfolio and make an educated decision. And remember: you’re hiring a photographer to do a job, much like you would hire a contractor to fix your plumbing. Make sure that everything that you expect out of the photographer and the end result is set in stone – meaning a comprehensive contract.

Now that you have a good photographer, work with him or her. Show him around the venue, show him the places where you’ll want your pictures taken and maybe even take a few test shots to have an idea of how it will all work out. You can also get advice on the photographer of how to stand or pose for specific situations. For example, when you’re taking pictures with all the guests it’s easy to get tired and not look your best in every picture. But a good photographer will be able to advise you on how to move or how to stand so you can always look picture perfect. Also, a good photographer will know when to take a candid picture and when to tell you when to pose. You can agree on some signals or special code for when he wants to let you know he’s taking your picture, so you’ll know to keep your eyes open and not to yawn, for example.

Also, look at the setting beforehand and decide right away where you want your pictures to be taken. Deciding on this the last minute may lead to some awkwardness. This way, you can make sure that those special places are kept in top condition, and aren’t used for storage or parking, for example.

Things can go wrong, and if they do there’s not much you can do to fix them. You can’t turn back time and get married on a sunnier day, but a better photographer will have adequate lighting gear. So being prepared is a great part of it, and being able to improvise is another. The best wedding picture is the one that looks better on paper and not in your mind.
